Immediate Help needed (new device)

I am in need of urgent assistance and hopefully someone here can help me out.

I currently have a network with all Cisco equipment less the Firewall which is a SonicWall Pro200.

The firewall went down last night and I have been strugling to get it back up. I have been unsuccessful to this point and SW support is no good.

I need help in getting a new Cisco firewall in the next 24 hours. I must be up and running by 7:00am PST Monday.

Are their any recommendations for a basic firewall that supports VPN and DMZ? I have a pretty small network with 100 users and 7 servers. I need to have VPN access for about 10 of them and also MS Exchange Web access through OWA. We currently have a T1 for data, but we are looking at increasing that to a fractional T3 with about 10 Mbps.

Will any of the firewalls do for me, or is there a minimum that I must go with?

How is the 24/7 support from Cisco?

If anyone is familiar with the Pro200 fro SonicWall, that is the level of device I am looking for.

Thank you all for you assistance.

Jeff

I checked some of the specs for the pro 200. With your current and future situation I would go for the 515E. Get 128 MB of RAM at least. This will assist if you want go beyond 6.3(5). You could also get the ASA 5510. Both appliances will support future growth. Although the ASA is the latest and provides a few more features than the 515E.

Thank you very much. Do you know if Cisco devices are pretty user friendly as far as setup and changes go? Is it all CLI or is there a GUI?

Thanks again.

Jeff

Jeff, both the 515e and asa5500s do have gui interfaces PDM and ASDM gui respectivately, you still need initial CLI configuration to get the GUI interface running which is very easy. You should be able to get it up and running in no time.

You can always post any questions here and anyone will help..

As far as support reference SMARTnet services,

if you need to have your PIX/ASA under service contract. This is an outstanding support service.

As a temporary solution I have installed a PIX 501. The GUI takes a little bit of understanding, but I think it will work.

Now time to do the research. I really hate the spur of the moment decisions and no research!
