Hi,

I have a PC connected with a cisco 2900 series switch. This switch is cascaded with another switch(same series),which is further connected witha PC.

I have cascaded the two swtches through two cross cables at port 2 and 3 respectively on both switches. My machines are connected to port 1 on both machines.

My question is--

I need to make an ether channel for load balancing, but when i configure on both switches,i am getting RTOs when i m pinging from one machine to another.

can anybody tell me about the configuration of the ether channel??i dont know where i am going wrong...

Hi,

Can you please past your configuration.

HTH,

Mohammed Mahmoud.

Hi Sarabhatia,

the configuration of 2900 series etherchannel as follows...

interface fas 0/1

channel-group 1 mode on

interface fas 0/2

channel-group 1 mode on

once after issuing this command, a port-channel interface is been formed

interface port-channel 1

configure the same on the other switches also.

ofcourse it does a load balancing also, which means even if 1 interface shuts down or the cable failure has happend,u will not feel as if the connectivity has lost, bcoz the interface the data will still b flowing. also by doing this u get 2Gbps
