L2 and L3 traffic on 6500

I have two 6509s connected via fiber and running layer three OSPF routed traffic between them just fine. I now have a situation where I need a Layer 2 connection between the switches as well, going across the single piece of fiber. Possible? I can not use an addition port. All traffic has to go across the fiber.

Is there a way to put a sub-interface on the fiber connection and assign that sub interface to the same layer 2 switchport vlan?

Thoughts?

Todd

Create a VLAN for this segment, then you have to move your L3 information to a SVI and make the port a L2 port and assign membership to the same VLAN the SVI is under.
