converting from hsrp to glbp

currently, we are operating with hsrp in our network which enable us to manully load balance between our two 6509 switches. recently, we were given the task to investigate the glbp protocols and the benefits it could bring to an already established network. also, we are in the process of implementing nac (cisco clean access)deployment. with that being said, which protocol would be best to implement and if so, how did your convertion go, did have any unforseen problems occur.

Choosing a protocol depends upon whether you need to have your switches acting as an active-standby pair or as an active-active pair.

GLBP is the way to go if you want load-balancing between both the switches along with redundancy. If this is not a requirement HSRP is good enough

The conversion is very painless since the commands used in GLBP are very similar to the ones used in HSRP. However, with GLBP you have more options than the basic commands provided with HSRP. The options I'm referring to, is how you want to allocate the load-balancing by using weights.

One thing to keep in mind, make sure both devices support GLBP before proceeding.
