I want to upgrade the IOS of the Cisco 6509 catalyst switch. I have inserted the pcmcia flash card 32MB. When I execute
format disk0:
the console gives me the prompt enter the volume name but after that I receive the error as following:
error= -69
format failed.
I don't understand. If I put the pcmcia module in my notebbok the pcmcia is recognised well as a removable storage.
Can you please help with this problem
best regards.

Did you receive an answer to this? I have the same issue but believe the Sup1a does not recognize the disk0: and must use slot0:. I just wanted to confirm.

Hi Dritan/William,
Sup 1 does not support 32Mb PCMCIA FLASH. It only support 16MB,24MB and 64 MB PCMCIA Card.
William,
PCMCIA card in sup 1 is always recognised as slot0: and not by disk0:
Also to get the exact model numbers and which sup supports which PCMCIA cards have a look at this link
