Hi

I somehow managed to mess up the flash file name and now I am trying to recover the 2600 router using the ROM monitor software procedure - I am stuck in rommon mode.

Has anyone tried this ??

I have attached some outputs...

Thanks for helping.

John

Hi Guro

Thanks for taking the time to look into this for me.

I have a laptop directly connected to the router with ip address 172.15.19.2/30. The Router is 172.15.19.1/30 so what should I configure as the default g/w on the router? The TFTP_SERVER=172.15.19.2 is correct, eh?

It looks like this default g/w is configured wrong as the error message points out.....Missing or illegal ip address for variable DEFAULT_GATEWAY

Illegal gateway address.

Any comments on this?

Thanks again

John

HI John,

172.15.19.2/30 Subnet - IP Ranges as below:

Start IP: 172.15.19.1

End IP: 172.15.19.2

Subnet ID: 172.15.19.0

BroadCast ID: 172.15.19.3

INFO: Only 2 IP's are Usable.

This /30 Subnet is not Feasible for your current requirement. Kindly go ahead with /29 Subnet.

IP Ranges: 172.15.19.1 -to -172.15.19.6

Use 3 - IP's from the above /29 Segment.

Pls RATE / Vote if HELPS

Yes the only way I could get this to work was through another router. Could not find a solution with a direct connection.

One point to note is the file name: c2600-j1s3-mz.123-13a.bin

Note the .bin

Thanks for all the help!!

Try th load of a small image through the consolle port (X-Modem procedure)

Not sure whether you people got it sorted out. But still it can work with the gateway specified as 172.15.19.1

Jay

I mean indeed it can work with direct connection.

Cheers!
