Your post indicates that you have not been able to access your router using SDM but does not tell us whether you have console access, telnet access, SSH access or any other access method. Also you tell us that you have a VPN group set up but does not tell us how that group is set up and how authentication is set up. If we knew these things we would be able to give you better answers.
If you do have access to the router (access to privilege mode) by some means, and if the VPN group is authenticating by local user name (rather than by some authentication server) the it should be enough to configure:
user password
If that is not enough to resolve your issue then please provide more detail about your environment.
