HP DL380 G5 OS Install Failure

Trying to install 2000.4.4 on a HP DL380 G5. I keep getting the error:

Drive Count Fatal Error

The installation was unable to retrieve needed drive information

Error Code:1

The server is brand new out of the box from HP and has the required 4 72 GB hard drives. Tried another new G5 and am getting the same error. Wondering if I have to do something with the arrays but not sure what.

Are you using the discs that came with the CM discs ? What kit did you order for the CM server ? Is this an MCS server or HP OEM ?

Using disks that came with my CER 1.3 purchase. Using DVD:

7845-1/H2 Disk 2, from disk2.png file

Win 2000 Adv Svr

80-8649-01(DVD)

OS 2000.4.4

Also this is an HP OEM.

This is possibly the reason. Wrong disc set.

Any idea what the right disk set would be?

This package came with disks for

7845-h1/h2

7825-h1/h2

7835-h1/h2

MCS-78xx/I1/I2 IBM Server

Of course no mention of HP

Interesting, when I ran the 7825-h1/h2 7835-h1/h2 disk it asked for the 7845-h1/h2 disk.

Using the SmartStart CD that came with your OEM HP server, perform a System Erase first.

Hello,

Did you manage to install the OS? I have a similar issue with IBM server. Any solution?

Regards,

Cornel
