4500 IOS upgrade problem

Trying to boot new image (cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-37.SG.bin) on Cat 4506 switches with WS-C4506 (XPC8245)Supervisor engines, via TFTP.

New image uploaded but when re-loaded failed to boot into new image cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-37.SG.bin

Console discovered switch trying to re-boot every 5 seconds

Went into ROMMON and instructed switch to boot from old image (cat4000-is-mz.121-12c.EW2.bin) to get back up & running.

Can anyone please advise?

There are several things that could cause the symptoms that you describe. It would help if you could post the console messages while the switch is attempting to boot. This would probably show much better what the problem is. Things that could cause these symptoms include:

- not enough memory available on the switch to run the new code.

- copy of the new image was flawed and the image is corrupt.

- image is not correct for this device.

So post the console messages and we will see what they tell us.
