Pulling a Report on CSA-MC 5.2 using seperate database

Can anyone else pull a report from CSA-MC 5.2 with a separate MC and DB

I get the following error.

Error: Operation failed. See csamclog.txt for details.

I look it up on the server and is says

""[2007-07-09 15:42:59.359] [PID=9900] [webadmin]: Error : java.sql.SQLException: Network error IOException: Connection refused: connect "

This doesn't make sense because The database is constantly being written to ?

If anyone else has this issue or doesn't: It might shed some light.

I can do an audit trail but not any of the following

Group Detail

Host Detail

Policy detail

Hi Trade

Have you ever been able to do this?

Have you verified that:

The permissions are configured as detailed in the install guide?

The remote DB machine is in the correct groups?

No passwords have changed since the install?

You could try:

Suspending Security on both the MC and\or the Remote DB machine and try again.

Running the reports logged on as the initial CSA or DB Admin account (if you aren't already doing so) and see if it makes a difference.

I believe (though I haven't confirmed) that the MC may use two sets of credentials. One for the MC to open and maintain a connection to the remote DB and the other for MC logons and what permissions they may have to make changes to the MC/DB.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes all the settings are all set.

CSA-MC will not install unless you have everything perfect.

I can also see connections by the mc when I view the policies and change rules.

I tried logging in as the admin account that didn't work either.

everything else works great, except the reports feature. I has me baffled.

Hi Trade, I finally got around to playing with this and it works as expected.

It was quite a challenge getting SQL Server installed "just right" so the CSA install would complete (which shows my ignorance in all things SQL).

Sorry I can't be more help.

Tom
