Absolutely possible, and may be more common than you think. Note the real features and performances of 7200 are decided by the NPE used, not the chassis.

Totally agree with Paolo, we have many nodes with 7206 (NPE-G1) acting as an MPLS PE router with over than 200 customers with no problems.

We have 7206 VXR Router (NPE-G1) running as MPLS PE Router in most of the Sites.
