Dialing an asterisk (*) with ICM label

I need to be able to transfer a call out of my ICM scripts to a Unity VM box. From the phones in the environment, I can prepend an asterisk (*) to any VM box and the call will route directly to the box to leave a message. In attempting to do the same from ICM, the call drops. The call has already been translation routed into CRS at the point I am attemping to dial. I can't find any limitations on this in documentation, however I was wondering if anyone else has tried this with success. I can outdial to other numbers within the CallManaqer and out of the system so I don't believe it's Dial Plan related, but just not sure at this point. Thanks!

CRS cannot dial "*", it uses * as network transfer. Instead of using * create another CTI RP in CM that transfers to Unity with a DN of 1111XXXX (somthing not overlapping with other DNs).
