Websense standalone and Cat6500 Native

We have a Websense server working in a stand-alone mode. This Server is connected to a Catalyst 6500 only Network (Native).

We tried to do RSPAN to emulate the same behavior, unfortunately (as we thought) since Websense is connected to the "RSPAN dest port", its port was disabled and we weren't able to access the box anymore.

My question is: how can we make Websense in a stand-alone mode, work with a Catalyst 6500 Native network. The source of the traffic will come from a different switch than the one where Websense is connected to.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hi, normally you would have multiple NIC:s to achieve this, one NIC (or more) to monitor and another for blocking. Only the blocking NIC must have an IP address.

The NICs do not have to be assigned to the same network segment.
