What's the command to remove IOS from a router? I need to return a unit back to Cisco, but need to remove config, ios.

Jose,
this is the command to erase the config, not the IOS. You may want to leave the IOS in the router.
router>config t
router#erase nvram
then
router#reload
this process should clear your startup config.
