Well the WDS is what control the Layer 2 or Layer 3 wireless roaming. That way one client can make move between AP's and it will do a full Re-authentication in less then 1 seconds. With now WDS the client will disconnnect from the network and any application(RFID, MEDIA streaming), will time out...

so , what would act as the wds server ? If I turn this off what will happen ? and how do I know which is the wds server , is it an another AP ? please help

carl what is the point in activating WDS if you do not know what it does ?

WDS is basically a way of controlling roaming over a group of L2 connected AP's

the server has the highest (255) priority number configured - there can be several backups.
