I am very new at this i was wondering if anyone could help me with my problem??
I am setting up a wan in a company and i need to know what equiment i might need??
i have 1000 users, 10 servers, with a point to point link to another site.
i think i am doing this wrong with 1000 users i need 21 switches running off of one router??? i just doesnot sound right to me.
any help would be great thanks

Are you setting up a WAN or a LAN ? Your query seem to contradict what you want to do (one question it mentions a WAN while another question it mentions switches).
If setting up a LAN, all the users located in the same floor ? How are they are geographic distributed ?

Sorry, I mean not to contradict.
I am making a LAN and connecting it to the internet and a WAN with a point to point line.
All are on the same floor with Star Topology.

Well, asside from the fact that you should build in Redundancy, You should be using vlans and subnets which does not require additional equipment, just some configuration. So if you have a problem, your whole network would not suffer.
