When you upgrade to new switch modules does the configuration stay or do you need to reconfigure the new module?

Hi

Then i suspect not as the interfaces on the module you currently have will be fa0/1, fa0/2 etc. whereas the new interfaces in the config will be gi0/1, gi0/2 etc.

I am replacing 10/100 modules in a catalyst 4506 switch with ws-x4548-gb-rj45 10/100/1000 modules.

Thanks. Yeah I pretty much figured that was the most reasonable, just wanted to be sure since I never did it.
