7941/61 IP phones only upgrading with hard reset

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade 7941/7961 IP phones

from:

cmterm-7941-7961-sccp.7.0.3.tar to cmterm-7941-7961-sccp.804SR2.tar.

IOS is 12.4(11)T, CME 4.0(2).

Everything is properly configured but there's no way, after performing a reset or by unplugging the cable, that the IP phones upgrade to the desired firmware. The only way I get that is by performing a hard reset on the IP phones. Also, the hard reset is the only way I manage to read "looking for term41/61" under the tftp events debug...

any ideas? I have several IP phones to upgrade remotely and doing a hard reset is definitely out of question.

thanx in advance

Hi,

what is the setting of your "load" under telephony-service ?

Have you done "create cnf-files" ?

In my experience the phones upgrade is OK with CME.

Hi,

thank you for your reply.

I also never experienced problems before with 7960. Well, under telephony-service:

load 7941 term41.default

load 7961 term61.default

create cnf-files version-stamp 7960 Jul 11 2007 17:34:09

on tftp:

tftp-server flash:current/firmware/term41.default.loads alias term41.default.loads

tftp-server flash:current/firmware/term61.default.loads alias term61.default.loads

tftp-server flash:current/firmware/apps41.1-1-3-30.sbn alias apps41.1-1-3-30.sbn

tftp-server flash:current/firmware/cnu41.3-1-3-30.sbn alias cnu41.3-1-3-30.sbn

tftp-server flash:current/firmware/cvm41sccp.8-0-3-32.sbn alias cvm41sccp.8-0-3-32.sbn

tftp-server flash:current/firmware/dsp41.1-1-3-30.sbn alias dsp41.1-1-3-30.sbn

tftp-server flash:current/firmware/jar41sccp.8-0-3-32.sbn alias jar41sccp.8-0-3-32.sbn

tftp-server flash:current/firmware/SCCP41.8-0-4SR2S.loads alias SCCP41.8-0-4SR2S.loads

hello, try

load 7941 SCCP41.8-0-4SR2S

default.loads is only for hard resets.

hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
