HSRP Preempt delay

Hi,

I have HSRP configured to track certain ip objects and sometimes the state is changing at complete random if i configured a delay timer would this prevent it doing this?

Hi

It's hard to suggest anything without knowing more specifics about the exact nature of the problem you are experiencing. It sounds like the delay in HSRP tracked objected response time is causing the standby HSRP router to preempt. If that indeed is the issue then what you are proposing, tweaking the HSRP hello/hold/preempt delay timer, should address the problem. Give it a try and if you are still having problems just give us more details for us to come up with some feasible solution.
