Suppressing SNMP traps

Hi all

I'm trying to stop a switch from sending the following SNMP trap:

%ILPOWER-5-POWER_GRANTED: Interface Fa0/9: Power granted

I don't want to lower the logging trap level (currently set at 5).

From my understanding, I can do this with either an "no snmp-server enable traps" command, or to limit the SNMP view by creating a 'cutdown' view.

However, I don't know what category of traps to disable, and I don't know how to find out what MIBs to restrict.

Does anyone have any idea? This is a 3560 switch running 12.2(25)SEB4 IPBASE. I'm very new to this so I might be completely off track here...

Thanks!

Try the per interface command "no logging event power-inline-status".

There is no way to suppress these messages other than lower the logging severity. These are syslog messages not SNMP traps, so modifying the trap configuration will have no effect.

Beautiful! Thank you very much, that has worked.
