E1 card in the UK

I have a point to point line between our UK and US office. I am pretty sure the config on the US side is good, however, I am not sure about the UK side. I just realized that I may have the wrong card, as British Telecom's equipment is saying that the speed is 1536. I have a VWIC-1MFT-E1 in an 1800 series router but I can't get the serial interface up. I have tried many different configs...am I missing something? Could someone shed some light on this? Thank you very much.

Friend,

It seems that the interface provided to you is a T1 and your WIC card is a an E1.

You would either require VWIC-1MFT-G703 or VWIC-1MFT-T1/E1

I always feel that its better to buy a 2gen T1/E1 card (VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1) rather than just E1 as it can be used for the connections by defining the controller as either T1 or E1

hi

we r prety sure that BT is giveing u T1 line .

double check with them, if they also confirum ,

ask them to provide E1 access line and let them do the time slot mapping internally (T1 to E1) , ask them to provide to time-slot

so that u will save the hardware cost
