Guys. I am using 2500 Router and I am setting it up as a DHCP server.
well there are 2 questions from me, actually and if you guys can explain, please do:
1. is it not possible to enter dhcp network as a subnetted one? for example:
Router(config-dhcp)#network 192.168.9.0 /29 OR
Router(config-dhcp)#network 192.168.9.0 255.255.255.248
When I tried to config like that, my clients wont receive any IP but if I enter this config:
Router(config-dhcp)#network 192.168.9.0 255.255.255.0
my clients are able to pull of IP addresses... I wonder why.
2. Is it possible to do this:
-I reserved a certain MAC Address to one particular IP Address.
-If that IP Address is unoccupied (assuming all other IP is full already), another different MAC Address client still CAN'T get that IP address.
Please enlight.
Thanks
Regards.

Hi,
1. You need to configure ip clasless :)
2. Depends on software.

@Bjor: Thanks for the kind reply, but I have set to enable IP Classless and it still wont receive any DHCP IP from the DHCP server (router)
and what software do you mean, Bjorn? do you mean the IOS? can you spesifically tell? Thank you...
and.. @Guru: Yes, thanks for the link, but I've covered that link this few days and I still can't do that...
Thanks
