We have:

A) Cisco 6509 with four 48-port 10/100/1000 RJ45 EtherModule, 1 Supervisor Engine 720 and one 24 port CEF720 24 port 1000mb SFP for fiber.

B) Cisco 5509 six 24 port 10/100BaseTX Ethernet WS-X5225R and one 1000BaseX Supervisor IIIG with one port for fiber.

Switch A is 100 meters away from switch B connected with one fiber giving a bandwidth of 1 Gb between two switches which is not enough and connections get extremely slow transferring files.

What should be best method of increasing bandwidth between the two switches? We can add modules and run more fiber cables.

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Thank you Krisztian.

1) Will 3 Port module WS-X5403 or 9 Port module WS-X5410 serve the purpose?

2) Does it matter whether the module includes GPIB or not?
