Dear all,
I am wonder if full wire rate can be support in Switch.
For example, for WS-C2960-24TC-L, there are 16Gbps switch fabric. Can each of 24 ports can full wire rate? How to calculate? Thanks

Hi
Within the switch yes because you have 24 x 100 = 2.4Gbps and you have a 16Gbps switch fabric. You could get some contention on the uplink ports as they provide only 2Gbps capacity but it is unlikely that all 24 ports will be working at full capacity at the same time.

Thanks for your information.
But how about WS-2960G-48TC for example?
32Gbps switch fabric and there are 48 10/100/1000 baseT ports. How do ports share the backplane?

Switch fabric defines total switching capacity, and most of the time the uplink ports are communication bottleneck, since most of communication is not local and uplink capacity is limited by how many port you connect to where.

Forwarding rate of this switch would be 2.7 Mpps .considering the packet size has 64-byte,
