The current system memory configuration is on a router 3640:

SIMM 0 SIMM 1 SIMM 2 SIMM 3

--------------------------------------

32M-DUAL 32M-DUAL

But I'm on a 32bit mode and when I look at the supported configuration, I have :

Supported 64 bit configurations:

SIMM 0 SIMM 1 SIMM 2 SIMM 3

--------------------------------------

4M 4M 4M 4M

As you can see, there is no dual on 32bit mode, how the router accept the dual mode in 32bit mode? shall I change the bit mode?

Note on SIM2 the 16M is not supported I have to add still one.

SIMM 0 SIMM 1 SIMM 2 SIMM 3

--------------------------------------

32M-DUAL 32M-DUAL 16M

Thanks in advance.

I have this problem too.

Cisco 3640 routers each contain four single in-line memory module (SIMM) sockets for Dynamic RAM (DRAM): bank 0 (SIMM 0), bank 1 (SIMM 1), bank 2 (SIMM 2), and bank 3 (SIMM 3). A socket corresponds to one bank of memory. Each socket can hold one DRAM SIMM of any size permitted for that router.
