I'm looking to learn a bit more about rate limiting a VLAN interface on a Cisco 6509 running native IOS/sup2.
Sadly, I'm coming up with no documentation on the subject and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this.

You cannot do rate-limiting like on routers on ethernet/VLAN interfaces. You need to use PFC QoS(aka Policing)

Note that you can only do ingress policing with Sup2/MSFC2

Thank you!
Could you possibly provide me with a config sample to say, rate limit all ingress trafic on a specific VLAN interface to 300Mb to compare with what I come up with?
