Hi I have a quick question here, I have a conneciton that goes from a DSL modem directly into a cisco 800 serires router

which runs VoIP and internet for a office. Question is what is the purpose putting the router into bridge mode? It doesn't connect to any thing else but the DSL modem?

Not sure, do you have another router? Can you explain the full topology? No bridging should be necessary.
