PIX 501 Keeps dropping VPN to branch and internet

I am having an issue at one of my branch offices that VPN to our main branch. The branch has a pix 501 and uses a cable connection to get to the internet. Every 9 - 15 minutes the connection goes down and both the pix and the modem need to be rebooted. This was working well before with few incidences of downtime, now it seems to be happening as stated above. I have checked the interface cards and nothing unusual on the branch end but on the main office pix (a 515) it shows deferred collisions. Could the main office pix bring down a whole branch?

I think if you are getting a lot of deffered packets and collisions then check the speed and duplex values configured on the interfaces of the PIX's. Changing the values to 100Mbps and full duplex may solve this problem.
