My 2811 router has high CPU utilization. The process that has the highest CPU utilization is the Virtual exe process. The software is c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.124-3b.bin, what could be the cause? all debugging is off, logging to the console is enabled

thanks

Thanks

How many percent does virtual exec takes in your case?

Exec is always processor intensive, since it runs purely in CPU. Depending on your activity, the CPU utilization can spike. But it will stay high only when there is sustained large output to console/vty.

type "who" to see which lines are connected. There could be one line hanging in the air, and router outputs information to it that you do not see.
