Hi,
I have configured DFM for email notification as far as all the documentation says.
But I get no emails.
Email is working, as I can forward Alerts to myself no problem.
I have looked in the NOS log and am only seeing Java errors :-
log4j:WARN No such property [remoteHost] in org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender.
log4j:WARN No such property [port] in org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender.
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/cisco/nm/xms/ogs/util/OGSException
at com.cisco.nm.trx.nos.server.NOSServer.initializeEPMPoller(NOSServer.java:240)
at com.cisco.nm.trx.nos.server.NOSServer.<init>(NOSServer.java:107)
at com.cisco.nm.trx.nos.server.NOSServer.main(NOSServer.java:254)
Exception in thread "main" log4j:WARN No such property [remoteHost] in org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender.
log4j:WARN No such property [port] in org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender.

log4j:WARN No such property [remoteHost] in org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender.
log4j:WARN No such property [port] in org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender.
Any ideas on debuging the issue would be helpful.
Thanks

Hi.
Check:
/var/adm/CSCOpx/log/smtp.log
to see if you're seeing any errors there.
this should help you to see if the email address(s) you have configured are interpreted correctly by sendmail.
Also, you might want to look in the nos.log in
/opt/CSCOpx/log/dfmLogs/NOS
for errors there.
Finally, check to make sure the NOS process is up.
cd /opt/CSCOpx/bin
./pdshow NOSServer

I would focus on email first. Whats your platform windows or sun ? When you say you can forward alerts to yourself is that via eamail or snmp trap ?
What's the configuration for your notification group look like ?
