EXISTING;

-2 CORE SWITCH

-4GBIC - PORT CHANEL 1 ON EACH CORE

-PORT CHANEL 1 CONFIGURED FOR HSRP

QUESTION;

-for now, correct me if iam wrong, hsrp is tracking the whole port channel 1 and monitoring it as single interface.

-is it possible to track if say 2 of the 4gbic interfaces fails then activate the standby hsrp?

what will happend if 1 of the 4 links actualy fails?

thanks.

Can we see the config ?

You can setup HSRP to track links on that port and decrement its priority accordingly.

you mean tracking each port (4 gig ports) that are configured in port chanel 1?

is it like below?

standby 10 track int g1/1 5

standby 10 track int g1/2 5

standby 10 track int g1/3 5

standby 10 track int g1/4 5

Hi,

I don't see any direct command under portchannel HSRP configuration which will track individual interfaces / ports under that portchannel.

But you can do so with normal tracking with explicit priority command like, you can give

standby track .

should be like any of the two interfaces goes down at the same time, the prority of the portchannel should reduce the priority of interface less than the standby router.

ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

standby ip 10.1.1.3

standby priority 110

standby track serial0 10

standby track serial1 10

Hope it clears your doubts,

Rate if it deos,
