Mobile operator IP design

What form of IP design will be suitable for a mobile operator with more than 30million subscribers, that is ready to converge its network to All-IP and offers quadruple play services (voice, video, data, games) to its subscribers? If the operator already build its IP/MPLS network, is it advisable to use IPV6 or IPV4 considering the volume of subscriber. what form of IGP will be recommended in the providers network (OSPF or IS-IS) and how will IP addresses be assigned per geographical locations?

Tunneling, encapsulation, and other methods have been used for many years in different applications to solve migration challenges. Cisco offers a number of Layer 2 and Layer 3 IP/MPLS-based solutions to assist in migration and consolidation and enable the right service within the mobile operator's infrastructure. Cisco Any Transport over MPLS (AToM), a standards-based Pseudowire Emulation Edge-to-Edge (PWE3), has become the de-facto solution that allows service providers with existing Cisco IP/MPLS backbones to offer Layer 2 connectivity by expanding service offerings to connect Ethernet, ATM, Frame Relay, and Serial/Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) networks

Your customer may have to consider the Cisco IP NGN Multi-Service Edge Solution. This is the way to go considering the current base and the future ramp up.

Regarding addresing IPV6 is an obvious choice considering the numbers but, this factor is not dependent only on the service provider.

It would be very inappropriate to discuss this here, would suggest you to call you local Cisco SE, for a complete suit of the IP NGN and how would it benefit and fit your needs, and in turn he would be thanking you a ton ( for the huge business ofcourse) :-).
