issue accessing the GUI with a cisco 1200 series

I was able to access the gui by typing in the address 192.168.1.10 and was prompted for a login screen.

On the login screen the realm was level_1_access.

username/password.

I attempted to do a IOS upgrade and it would not let me, stated no access to the flash.

I rebooted the AP and now when I goto 192.168.1.10 i get a login prompt but the realm is now level_15_access.

Once I log in I do not get the GUI anymore. I only get the following:

Cisco Systems

Accessing Cisco AIR-AP1230B-A-K9 "AP-131"

Show diagnostic log - display the diagnostic log.

Monitor the router - HTML access to the command line interface at level 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15

Show tech-support - display information commonly needed by tech support.

Extended Ping - Send extended ping commands.

Can someone tell me what happened and how do I get the Gui back?

Looks like your GUI got deleted off of flash.

It should be in flash:/YOURVERSION/html .

Instead, you're seeing the generic IOS HTML GUI.

I'd recommend doing a full IOS reinstall now.

Get to the ap# prompt (telnet/ssh/console) then:

ap#archive download-sw /force /overwrite tftp://ios-tarfile

Yes, the AP autonomous IOS software is distributed as a tar file, which consists

of the IOS image proper, the GUI, the radio firmware images, and other stuff.

You DON'T upgrade APs as you would a router (with "copy tftp flash"); you need

to use the archive command, which untars the tarball and puts everything from it

into its proper place.
