ACS Merge

Hello,

I have two ACS servers. One running 3.1 and the other is running 3.2. My plan is to decommission the 3.1 however, I would like to move the users from the old server to the new one.

Is there a way to do it? I will need to migrate the user list and their passwords and then import them in the ACS 3.2 without destroying the current users in the 3.2.

Waiting for any feedback,

Regards,

Hi,

You need to use csutils inorder to import old users to the new acs,

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_soft/csacs4nt/acs32/user02/ae.htm#wp531298

First upgrade 3.1 to 3.2 and once that is done, export user list and import it to 3.2.

Hope that helps !

Thanks for the reply but the 3.2 is an SE. The SE has no CSUTILS utility. Also, do the import and export preserve the user's passwords?

Waiting for your feedback,

Thanks,

Then you need to use RDBMS,

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_soft/csacsapp/csapp32/user/sad.htm#wp275001

I don't think, it will preserve passwords.

Regards,

So does that mean I export the users from ACS for Windows using CSEUTIL and then import them to the ACSse using the RDBMS?

Would that work?

Regards,

Yes, that is what you need to do.

Regards,

Hello,

I was looking at RDBMS but I found that the structure for RDBMS is different. My concern is that if I do export the users to text file using CSEUTIL would I be able to directly import this same file using RDBMS or I have to modify the structure of text file to be imported?

Thanks for the help,

Hi,

Yes you need to modify it.
