FAC works with 3rd party SIP endpoints?

Hello,

Reading Interactions and Restrictions of FAC:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/5_0/sys_ad/5_0_4/ccmfeat/fsfaccmc.htm#wp1046253

"The FAC and CMC tones can only be played on SCCP phones, TAPI/JTAPI ports, and MGCP FXS ports. "

Does this mean 3rd party sip phones should be working but just won't hear any tone prompting to enter FAC?

We have a 3rd part sip phone that doesn't work. For now, tranlation pattern is used as a temporary workaround however when it comes to billing, cdr doesn't do tranlation patterns.

Any way for this FAC to work with 3rd party SIP endpoint?

Thanks in adv.

FAC is not a supported feature in CCM 5.x.

Hi,

I observed that if user waits for couple of seconds and dials the FAC, the call goes through. I am also testing with 3rd party SIP phones and CCM 6.X.

Am not sure how the behavior on Cisco IP Phone with SIP code, but definately 3rd party SIP phones are not receiving the FAC tone.

thanks,

Kapil Atrish

Same applies for 6.x

Not supported, one of the disadvantages of using 3rd party phones is that not all the features are implemented.
