Hi Guys,

We had iinstalled around 4 Cisco Aironet 1232 AG-SK9 that we had convereted to Lightweight WAPs and installed a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller 4402.

We had seen that 802.11a is woeking fine in terms of Signal strength, however using 802.11 g gives us only aroundd 20% Signal Stength even though you are directly under the APs mounted on the ceiling and we had tried to move it to other location s which shows also the same results. But during exact same scenario we can see 80 to 100% Signal Strength when using 802.11a.

It is good if we can just use 802.11a, however many of our Laptops only support 802.11b/g.

Do any of you guys experience any issues like this?

Any suggestions?

This may be a dumb question but do you have antenna attached to the G radio stubs and if so are they 2.4GHz antenna?

Secondly, have you run a carrier busy test on the G radio? Is there any evidence of noise on the G band?
