My CCNP expire 2 years ago. What are my options to get my CCNP recertified? I heard I can take CCIE written exam and pass it then my CCNP is valid for another 3 years. Is this true?

I have this problem too.

You can pass both the CCIE written & lab exams to recertify your CCNP.This is true because, once your are a CCIE, all other Cisco certifications are conferred to you automatically, and also CCNP is not a prerequisite for CCIE exams. But, CCIE written alone won't allow you to recertify your CCNP.

I hope this helps clarify your options.

Any of the 5 CCIE written exam or any 642 exam will re-certify "current" CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, CCIP, CCVP for another 3 years.

Expired certifications however will have to pass all the exams required for that certification (4 for CCNP). If your CCNA certification also expired, you have to pass CCNA first :)
