hi every one

i have a question about route selection for routing table. A little illustration might make help.

router " A" is L1/L2 . " A" is learning route 1.1.1 from L1 neighbour with metric 4 and from L2 neighbour with metric 4.

which one will get selected?

second scenario:

router "A" is now learning 1.1.1.1 from L1 neighbour with metric 4 and from L2 neighbour with metric 5.

which one will get selected?

scenario # 3

R1(L2)------------------------R2(L1/L2)

router 1 is connected via serial int to router 2

Router 2 is L1/L2 while router 1 is L2

routing table at router 2 looks as shown below:

c 1.1.1.0/24 is directly connected E0

IL1 2.2.2.0/24[15/20] via 3.3.3.3 e2

will router2 will exchange the route 2.2.2.0 learned by L1 process with router1?

thanks every one.

I have this problem too.

hi every body

i just read the tcp/ip guide jeff Doyle.According to the book, router 2 will exchange the 2.2.2.0 as L2 route with R1.

R1 will install the route as L2 2.2.2.0.

hope it might help others with the same questions.

thanks
