firewall query?

HI everybody,

I have scenario where i am hosting a web spplication service. Clients from the internet establish a tcp connection to my application server using a specific port number. How can i implement a stateful firewall in this scenario?

All the stateful firewall documentation state tcp connection initiating from inside. can any1 have some ideas?

Hi

A stateful firewall will work whether you intiate the connection from inside to outside or outside to inside.

The firewall maintains state by keeping track of the TCP flags in the packets. These flags will be there whichever way the connection starts from.

So any stateful firewall will alow you achieve what you want.

Does this make sense ?
