Hi:

The usage guideline for this command states:

"Use this command to establish the LDP session and to carry non-IP traffic."

What exactly does non-ip traffic mean in regards to this cmd?

The Non Ip traffic means the packet that comes from the IPX protocol or Appletalk. There are 3 types of Routed protocols. They are IP, IPX and Appletalk.
