Using Putty to access PIX 501. The typed commands are slow to display. Is this a function of the high network activity? The network in above branch office is not very active. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi

Are you accessing the pix on it's outside interface via the Internet. If so yes it can be very slow. We manage some remote pix firewalls via the internet and sometimes it can take ages to register key entries.

Jon,

Yes, we are accessing the remote PIX via its public IP address.

Thanks.
