hi, when turning on ldp-sync on an XR router if it sees a route for which it doesn't have a label assigned (for example, when your not running LDP on a specific router that does not support it), it the router adds a cost of 65k to that particular route.
is there anyway to force the router not to do this?
regards,
c.

This is the default behaviour of LDP sync command.Whenever ldp sync is enabled it adds max-metric(65535) to the route.

hi,
i understand the part about being default behavior. the thing here is that, for example, i'm going to have route-reflectors in the network: those router won't be running mpls and will see max metrics on those loopback interfaces. is there a way to avoid this?
regards,
c.

Carlos,
The max-metric will not make the RR loopback interface unreachable. It will simply make the path via the specific interface, that is not synchronized, less attractive than any other path.
Hope this helps,
