Hi

AFAIK its not possible to make 2960 to act as a DHCP server.

You need a L3 device which can support DHCP server feature to do the same..

HI Prem, [Pls Rate if Helps]

Cisco 2960 can only act as Relay agent for DHCP Services. Which can forward the Packets between clients and Servers. Relay agent forwarding is different from normal L2 forwarding.

You need a Windows / Unix DHCP Server which advertises the below subnet ranges:

192.168.10.xx ports 1-10, 192.168.20.yy ports 10-15, 192.168.30.zz ports 15-20

Whereas you need to enable DHCP Services on the Switch using "service dhcp" command to allow the Switch act as DHCP Relay Agent. For me by default this feature is enabled.

PLS RATE if HELPS

Hi Everybody,

2960 can only be configured for dhcp snooping and not as a DHCP server.

Mohammed Mahmoud.

Hi Mahmoud,

Give it a try and it will work.
