Multiple Access Points with DHCP enabled

I have a wireless network setup with 2 Cisco 1230 access points. Both access points are setup with DHCP but have different adress pools. I have the access points setup so i can roam and switch access points automatically but i always keep the IP address from the original access point. Even if i relase and renew my ip address i still get an IP from the original access point even though i am connected to the second access point. is there a reason for this? if i have both access points configured for DHCP does one access point's DHCP always give out the IP?

Make sure you are associated to the second access point. But in cisco AP the fast secure roaming is supported which means complete handoff is supported
