SYSTEM INIT: INSUFFICIENT MEMORY TO BOOT THE IMAGE!

I started the switch with no problem yesterday. Configured the switch and then reloaded. This is when the problem occurred. Has anybody run across this and is there any way to get the switch to boot back to a command line for configuration?

I have this problem too.

Hi ,

We are getting this error ,

SYSTEM INIT: INSUFFICIENT MEMORY TO BOOT THE IMAGE!

Known Defect

cat3500-xl is not able to boot up if there is a line "logging buffered 1000000 debugging"

in the configuration. The switch shows an error message of "INSUFFICIENT MEMORY TO BOOT

THE IMAGE!" and keep reloading itself.

Workaround:

Decreseing the logging buffer from 1000000 to 500000 in cat3k configuration file will resolve the booting problem

c3548XL-2(config)#logging buffered 500000 de

If still issue is there then get it RMA'd
