Cisco 2821 IOS Upgrade

Hello,

I have two 2821 cisco routers one of them has cryptographic features and the other doesn't have this feature.

so is it possible to upgrade the one without cryptographic feature with the IOS installed in the router that has cryptographic features.

this becasue iwant to enable ssh on the router.

here is the output of show version command for both routers:

1- Router with Cryptographic Features:

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.3(8r)T7, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Cisco 2821 (revision 53.51) with 251904K/10240K bytes of memory.

Processor board ID FCZ0951706W

2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

Yes,

You can use the IOS from the Cryptographic router and upload it to the router without these features.

Just remember to check the flash memory available. It is quite possible that you may have to remove the old IOS for uploading the crptographic one

Technically, you sure can.

Legally, you need to purchase the crypto software from a Cisco reseller in case you have an audit.
