Unlocking and Locking Configuration Options
To prevent users from making changes that could affect the operation of a phone, Configuration options in the Network Configuration menu and in the Security Configuration menu are locked by default. You must unlock these options before you can change them and perform many of the procedures that are described in this manual.
When options are inaccessible for modification, a locked padlock icon appears on the Network Configuration Menu. When options are unlocked and accessible for modification, an unlocked padlock icon appears on this menu, as shown below.
To unlock or lock options in the Network Configuration menu or in the Security Configuration, press **# before you display the menu or while the menu i s displayed. This action either locks or unlocks the options, depending on the previous state.
Make sure to lock options after you have made your changes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Caution Do not press **# to unlock options and then immediately press **# again to lock options. The phone will interpret this sequence as **#**, which will reset the phone. To lock options after unlocking them, wait at least 10 seconds before you press **# again.

Hi Sohail,
Sadly there is no setting that can "Lock" the Headset button On. I am guessing that you must have a user who keeps turning the Headset button Off. If that is the case maybe you could remove the Handset, disable the Speakerphone (via the Product Specific Configuration for the device) and enable Auto Answer on Headset from the Directory Number Configuration for the specified device.
Can't think of a better method :(
Hope this helps!

As it was told, there is no "software" method to Lock the Headset button ON. However you can always go with an good old "hardware" method - just glue a button cap (protective cover" over the Headset button. It works pretty well with a light switches, which should be always on (Fire Alarm is another example). However you should develop a procedure to turn it ON after the phone reboots. I think you may do it by just making a small hole in the cap, so you may use something thin to turn the headset on.
Good luck,
Michael
