Hi Friend,

The Cisco Catalyst 3750 and 3750G 24-port versions can support 24 simultaneous full-powered PoE ports at 15.4W for maximum powered device support. The 48-port versions can deliver the necessary power to support 24 ports at 15.4W, 48 ports at 7.7W, or any combination in between.

Incase if you have 3750-E 48-port PoE configurations can support 48 simultaneous full-powered PoE ports at 15.4W when using the optional 1150W power supply.

But AFAIK Cisco 7960 needs 6.30W so your 3750 48 ports can provide inline power to all 48 ip phones.

Thanks please can you clairify again what model i should go for if i want to populate a 48 port with poe and PC's. my overall design will be 3 x 3750 48 ports all using ip phones and networked pcs

thanks again

Hi Friend,

Can you please update the exact model of Cisco IP phones which you are having.

As I mentioned most of the ip phones need less that 7.0 W and the 3750-48-port versions can deliver the necessary power to support 24 ports at 15.4W, 48 ports at 7.7W, or any combination in between.

So if your ip phones need inline power less than 7.0W to power up then all 48 ports will be alloted inline power by the switch.

Hi a phone has not been recommend to us yet all i know is i need to purchase 3 x 48 port switch which will all be fully populated with phones and pc's what whcih can provide this ?

cheers

Hi Friend,

As I said 3750G-48PS Switch can provide 7.7W inline power to all 48 ports so if your ip phones which needs less than 7.7W will work on all 48 ports.

IP Phone like

CP-7902G (6.3W)

CP-7905G (6.3W)

CP-7910-SW (6.3W)

CP-7910G (6.3W)

CP-7912G (6.3W)

CP-7940G (6.3W)

CP-7960G (6.3W)

CP-7970G (10.25W)

CP-7971G which falls in to a class 0 or 3 device

IEEE 802.3af Device - Class 0 (15.4W)

IEEE 802.3af Device - Class 1 (4W)

IEEE 802.3af Device - Class 2 (7W)

IEEE 802.3af Device - Class 3 (15.4W)

Out of the above listed models if your ip phones are the one from 6.3W cat then all 48 ports can afford providing inline power and all 48 ports can handle your ip phones.

But incase if your ip phones are CP-7971G and 7970 then you may need to buy 3750-E 48-ports with optional 1150W power supply.
