Adding Devices (SNMPv3) - Cisco LMS 2.6

Hello everybody!

I'm having problems adding devices in Cisco LMS. Those devices are using SNMPv3. Everything seems to be working normal when I execute

snmpwalk -v 3 -u ciscolms -l authPriv -a MD5 -A ciscolms -X ciscolms XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX

However, when I add a device in LMS, it is placed in "Questioned" devices, and the following debug message is received:

Aug 6 14:34:53: SNMP: Get request, reqid 67181, errstat 0, erridx 0

system.1.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

system.2.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

system.4.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

system.5.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

system.6.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

Aug 6 14:34:53:

Incoming SNMP packet

Aug 6 14:34:53: v3 packet security model: v3 security level: auth

Aug 6 14:34:53: username: ciscolms

Aug 6 14:34:53: snmpEngineID: 8000000903000019E8AC3290

Aug 6 14:34:53: snmpEngineBoots: 1 snmpEngineTime: 602068

Aug 6 14:34:53: SNMP: Response, reqid 67181, errstat 16, erridx 0

system.1.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

system.2.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

system.4.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

system.5.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

system.6.0 = NULL TYPE/VALUE

Could you please tell me what might be causing the problem?

Best Regards,

Vladislav Vasilev

Hi Vladislav,

authpriv will maybe not supported in LMS 2.6 and is still not supported in LMS 3.0. For LMS 3.0 there will be a patch coming until the end of this year.

Until then use AuthNoPriv.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Frank

Hello Frank,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply!

It's working now :)

Best Regards,

Vladislav
