Get XML Document Data syntax

Unanswered Question

Hi All,

I'm building an application (IPCCx 4.0.4) that will page an on-call technician based on a calender listed in an xml file. I'm an xml newbie, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to configure the "Get XML Document Data" step. How do I list a string variable in the path? For example:

"/descendant::Calender/child::day/child::date"

Where "day" is a string variable that gets incremented, such as day1, day2, etc. I want to loop through the dayx children and compare the date entry with today's date. Once todaysDate=date, I will stop the loop and return the amTech and pmTech to the application.

Here's a snippet of the XML schedule file:

<Calender>

- <day1>

<date>7/30/2007</date>

<amTech>Smith</amTech>

<pmTech>Jones</pmTech>

</day1>

- <day2>

<date>7/31/2007</date>

<amTech>Smith</amTech>

<pmTech>Jones</pmTech>

</day2>

Thanks, Randy

Hi Randy,

Try to use an attribute on your xml script and on your path look for the attribute

Example

whatever

you will need to check for the attribute from your script by ussing the xml path sintax and done on the Get XML Document Data step... everything else is just CRS programming.

Regards,

Claudio.
